Meet the Team – Kayla

Hello there! My name is Kayla Scholten. I live in Wyoming, Michigan with my husband Andrew, my daughter Samantha, and our rescue Australian Shepherd Reba. I’ve been blessed to grow up in a family who loves to travel & to marry into a family that loves to travel as well. In my many travels, I’ve gone to Colorado, Florida, Chattanooga (Tennessee), Chicago (Illinois), New Orleans (Louisiana), Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, South Africa, Mackinac Island (yes that’s here in my home state, but still an amazing place to visit), camped at a few campgrounds in Michigan, gone on several Caribbean Cruises, & Walt Disney World in Florida.

I have a large bucket list of places I want to go: Disneyland in California, The Netherlands, England, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, & Canada (yes, I know that’s general, but I’m still doing my research to narrow it down). However, it can be difficult for me to prioritize getting to those places when I love going to Walt Disney World in Florida so much. I’ve been going to Walt Disney World since I was 4 years old. That’s why my specialty as a travel specialist is Disney! This way, I can live vicariously through my clients as I help them plan their magical vacation. That’s why I decided to become a travel specialist.

I love planning my own vacations as well as helping my friends & family plan theirs. Vacations can mean so many different things to so many people, but I think we can all agree that they give us something good to look forward to. I want to help make sure that “something good” stays good. However, I know things don’t always go smoothly. In those cases, you just have to learn to laugh them off. When my husband & I went to Disney World to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, I accidentally grabbed another guy’s hand while walking around Pandora in Animal Kingdom. We were trying to get around a big group of people, so we had to let go of each other’s hand. Once we went around that group, I saw a guy from the corner of my eye come up from behind me & thought he was my husband, so I grabbed his hand. Nope! Suddenly that hand pulled away & I realized that I grabbed a complete stranger’s hand. I was so embarrassed. Thankfully, the guy & his girlfriend/wife were laughing at what had just happened & forgave me after I profusely apologized. My husband was still behind me, watching the whole scene, LAUGHING! Shortly after the shock & embarrassment left my body, I was able to laugh at it too. I can’t promise that this won’t happen to you, but I can promise that I will help you plan a magical trip to Disney or Universal Studios.
